The mission of CDPI is to ensure that historic docks sites and other maritime artifacts on the Clyde are preserved and used sustainably in a way that benefits local communities and the maritime economy of the region. Both through direct activity and efforts to positively influence others with the necessary resources.
Currently our focus is Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow and we are pursuing an objective for a shipbuilding heritage park to be created on the site. We see a range of community and wider benefits having the potential to arise from such a project. A heritage park is a long term venture that will take several years to bring to completion and a diverse range of stakeholders will need to be consulted at every stage of the project.
