Protecting and Promoting the Evolving Maritime Heritage of the Tidal River Clyde

Sites of Interest on the Clyde

We have identified a number of derelict or at risk sites along the Clyde as having potential for preservation and/or innovative new uses. We will add to this list as our research progresses. If you are interested in partnering with CDPI on projects for restoration of any of these assets please contact us.

Mountblow Fuel Terminal

Flanked by the whisky bond warehouses, an industrial estate and the Forth & Clyde Canal - the oil fuel terminal at Mountblow near Old Kilpatrick was a fuel depot for the Royal Navy.

There are pier, mechanical and hydraulic remains that are worth preserving for historical interest as part of any future development of the site.

Nothing is currently earmarked for the site though CDPI is considering proposals that we could put forward. Could a similar attraction to Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord in Germany's Ruhr Valley be an option?
